Good day! As you know, my name’s Dr Mellissa D. Miller and today we start to discover new medicines called Anti Depressants. But today I’ll give you just general information, some king of introduction J
So, antidepressants’re treat clinical depression or dysthymia. It’s interesting to know that antidepressants’re studied by many doctors, scientists or psychiatrists.
Antidepressants help people to manage a depression and maintain recovery from depression. Antidepressants isn’t a joke, it’s a very dangerous medicines! So, you should take it under doctor care.
The choice of the right antidepressants depends on the weight of the depression, on your age, on the state of your health and so on. Someone can use combination of medicines and therapy. As it believed, antidepressants’re more effective than therapy.
Antidepressants help people with depression by making natural chemicals called neurotransmitters more available to the brain. Neurotransmitters are needed for normal brain function and are involved in the control of mood and in other responses and functions, such as eating, sleep, pain, and thinking. Antidepressants can help you to be saved from hopelessness, sadness, and other symptoms of depression.
In general, antidepressants are taken for about 4 to 6 months but as a rule it should be discussed with a doctor.
There’re a lot of antidepressants but we can divide them into:
1. Tricyclic antidepressants (tricyclics)
2. Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs)
3. The Others
Next time I’ll start to inform about different antidepressants, about there dosage, side effects, contra-indication and so on. So, see you next time! Don’t worry and be happy
